Black East Indian ducks are a small, hardy breed known for their black feathers with a green sheen. They are quiet, active foragers and do well in small ponds or backyard setups. Though they don’t lay many eggs, the eggs are small and white. Females make excellent mothers and will protect their ducklings well. These ducks are easy to handle and need simple care — clean water, secure housing, and balanced feed. Because of their size, they don’t need much space and are good for beginners. They are mainly kept for their looks and calm nature rather than for egg or meat production.

We currently keep an unrelated breeding trio.
